With the UK committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, those of us here at Miller & Carter have meticulously reviewed our carbon footprint and have crafted a strategy that aims to meet those wider net zero targets.
On a day-to-day basis, our parent company Mitchell’s & Butlers are looking for new ways to reduce the environmental impact of all of our restaurants, so you can spoil yourself with no regret. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but understand that the process requires more effort.
As you sit down for a day of decadence, know that we are making changes behind the scenes, every single day. This includes sustainable choices, tracking potential improvements, and focusing on the following:
o Net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 (Scopes 1, 2 and 3)
o The achievement of zero waste to landfill by 2030
o By 2030, reducing food waste by 2030
o We work passionately alongside FareShare, redistributing surplus food to communities in need
o Our restaurants are powered by 100% renewable electricity
o Operational waste is diverted from landfill at a staggering rate of 96%
o Miller & Carter are founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum and are deeply committed to the reduction of emissions and crafting a Roadmap to Net Zero
