Miller & Carter Warrington focuses on sustainability
We’re always looking for new ways to better the environmental impact of our restaurants. We’re passionate about our work and all we’ve achieved so far, but we’re not stopping any time soon. There's lots more to do and we're implementing small changes that we hope have a long-lasting effect on our planet.
As the UK commits to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, we’re following the lead by evaluating our carbon footprint and determining a strategy that covers the steps needed to limit our pub’s impact on Earth. We’ve appointed an Energy Ambassador for each of our restaurants and our parent company Mitchells & Butlers has been awarded Best Sustainable Pub Company 2022. This acknowledgement is a result of the ongoing work and innovation across our restaurants, including furniture recycling schemes, Go Green initiatives to help reduce carbon emissions; the introduction of plant-based items, and concerted efforts to reduce energy consumption, recycle more and waste less.
We are proud of our award-winning youth strategy, internally promoting and developing our team members with circa 42% of our management teams coming from internal succession. We are committed to the development and support of apprentices and have an in-depth programme offering an exciting career journey to help encourage our team members to take that extra step to shape their future.
As you sit down for a day of decadence, know that we are making changes behind the scenes, every single day.
