Our chateaubriand is a steak to share on a special occasion: like an anniversary, an engagement, a birthday or even a promotion. Or just because someone you know deserves to be spoilt.
Like all our steaks the chateaubriand is sourced from specially selected British farms, matured for 28 days and prepared exactly to your taste by chefs who appreciate what they're cooking.
It's a wonderful cut of beef from the centre of the fillet, named after the demanding French diplomat for whom it was created. Perhaps unfairly, Vicomte François-René de Chateaubriand is remembered, rather than his personal chef who had the good idea.

Choosing a worthy wine
We'd suggest our Rothschild Claret, with its ripe, red berry notes. Or for a real treat, try our Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir - it's silky smooth on the palate and has that strawberry flavour beloved of Pinot Noir fans. But you may have a better idea: there are plenty more to choose from on our extensive wine list.
